Giftica beta soft launch
So once upon a time I was tasked with not only creating a list of things I wanted for Christmas, but also everything that 3/4 of my family wanted.
Let's be clear up front, this is a solved problem. There are other folks doing this exact thing. They are, by all accounts, doing it well.
But I didn't like ads and at the time then? Your choices were Amazon and a couple of sketchy sites that clearly were festooned with ads.
So I built something for my extended family to use where we could each create a wishlist. You could check things off like a gift registry if you bought it and it worked pretty well.
This is the re-launch of that particular piece of software and is in a beta format. Some things are not terribly obvious, but it does it's core job fairly well.
You can sign up and add items to a list. If a friend or family member also signs up, you can add them via exchanging a code. (There will be a technical post on this at some point likely).
If you buy something for someone, you can flag that item so that everyone else who is friends with that person will know that someone got it.
Maybe it can reduce duplicate gifts in you or your kids' lives.
As with everything else we build, data here is kept private to the absolute best of my ability as a long-time web developer.
Give it a shot.
